Hello!
For this week's installment of "Update from a PlanetTR troll" we'll go over the players and devs reactions to the latest 1.7 patch on PTS.

For the most part, players were not happy with many changes on PTS.  The increased aggro management has made CPs and other dense areas very difficult.  It has also made snipers throw away their Torqueshell Rifles...again.  The changes to the Ranger and Spy tree were somewhat lackluster, with most changes causing, to quote my 12th grade history teacher, diarrhea of the mouth.  Engineers were hit with changes to turrets, and now the mind stat affecting both turrets and bots.  The engineer community responded much like the villagers near Dr. Frankenstein's castle.  The devs also changes the AI of turrets considerably, but a complete and unbiased test has yet to occur.

The devs were very concerned with the players this past week, with Lead Developer Paul Sage writing out some concerns for Feedback Friday.  He also  PlanetTR thread about prioritizing the features of the game.  Sage, as well as developer Kagasumi, spent a long time on Friday posting answers and responding to people's concerns about the game.  It's clear from my opinion that they do care about their players, and despite the frustration many of us feel in not getting what we want, it's only a fraction of the frustration a developer feels when he/she just does not have the time to do everything they want.

Kagasumi has also been vocal in trying to keep the engineers happy.  See this long thread as well as this and thisand finally this. From raw numbers, the DPS of turrets was around 14% of their value on live.  Kagasumi has been trying to set time aside on PTS for engineers to go with him and test out turrets, but his other duties have prevented him.  Kagasumi frequents the forums and is seen in-game more than any other dev/GM in TR, so yes we all believe he will find time to test out these changes.

There are more iterations of 1.7 coming out soon, so don't look to anything set in stone.
